Description: This year marks the second of an annual series of lectures orchestrated by the senior student staffers of The Harkin Institute. Each year seniors have the opportunity to partner with hosts throughout Drake University and the Des Moines community to put on a unique lecture experience. Establishing Food Security: How Policy and Science Can Work Together features guest speaker Dr. Per Pinstrup-Andersen, the 2001 World Food Prize recipient, and will be discussing how true food security comes from both reliable public policy research and implementation as well as technological and scientific advancements.
