March 28, 2018: Student Lunch with Jeff Russell, Delta Dental of Iowa President and CEO

Delta Dental of Iowa President and CEO Jeff Russell will join The Harkin Institute on March 28 to help us kick off our spring Student Lunch and Reception Series. Russell has more than 20 years of experience in senior leadership roles and has led companies of a variety of sizes, from start-ups to established companies embarking on transformation efforts.

Delta Dental is Iowa’s largest dental insurance carrier in Iowa, providing dental and vision benefits to more than 1 million members. As a not-for-profit insurance carrier, Delta Dental invests roughly half of its annual net gain in the company’s Public Benefit Program and Foundation. Since 2002, Delta Dental of Iowa has contributed more than $30 million to improving the health and smiles of Iowans. Russell graduated from Drake University and currently participates on several boards and committees, including serving as chairman for the Global Insurance Accelerator; on the board of directors for the Iowa Healthiest State Initiative; and as president of the Federation of Iowa Insurers.

The Harkin Institute’s student lunches offer intimate, hour-long opportunities for Drake University students to visit with an accomplished government, nonprofit, journalism, political or public policy leader. During this event, Russell will informally discuss his career, share information, answer questions, provide advice and get to know the students.
