Date: November 1, 2018
Time: 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Location: The Harkin Institute, Drake University

Drake University students, join us on Thursday, November 1, for an exclusive lunch with NASA Chief Historian Dr. Bill Barry. Dr. Barry joined NASA in 2001 and became the organization’s chief historian in September 2010. Before joining NASA, he spent 22 years in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and member of the faculty of the U.S. Air Force Academy.

He will be at Drake to deliver The Harkin Institute’s fall Sussman Lecture. His visit comes as NASA celebrates its 60th anniversary and Americans across the U.S. flock to theaters to see the new movie, “First Man”, about Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon.

The Harkin Institute’s student luncheons offer intimate, hour-long opportunities for Drake University students to visit with an accomplished government, nonprofit, journalism, political, or public policy leader. During this event, Dr. Barry will informally discuss his career, share information, answer questions, provide advice and get to know students.
