This July marks 33 years of the historic Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA was first signed into law on July 26, 1990. This landmark piece of legislation, authored by Senator Tom Harkin (retired), has paved the way for Americans with disabilities to be fully included in our society. The ADA protects people with disabilities against discrimination in the workplace and ensures equal access to public accommodations. You can celebrate the ADA’s anniversary by posting on social media using the hashtags: #ThanksToTheADA  #ADA33 #DisabilityPride. You can find more ways to participate by going to ADAanniversary.org.
