The Harkin Institute has been holding roundtable discussions with recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition and Assistance Program (SNAP), in conjunction with the Iowa Hunger Coalition and the Iowa Food System Coalition. The goal of the discussions is to hear participant experiences and how they think the program can be improved. The first of these roundtable discussions was held on January 4, 2024, at the Ottumwa Public Library. Future meetings will be held at the Muscatine and Marshalltown Libraries. If you are interested in finding out more, please email Wellness and Nutrition Director Adam Shriver at adam.shriver@drake.edu. This work is funded by a grant from the Center for Science in the Public Interest.
