Drake University students, join us on Wednesday, March 4th, for an exclusive lunch with Sioux City Councilman, Alex Watters.

Watters has served as a page in the state legislature, worked with First Lady Michelle Obama on her “Let’s Move’ campaign, was a field organizer for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign and eventually won a state gaming license. Watters has been active with local organizations that include Sioux City Growth Organization and Events Facilities Advisory Board.

The Sioux City Journal states Watters hopes to “support economic development, support city workers and help the city move toward the goal of bringing more young professionals to the city.” He is also a proud advocate for disability rights.

The Harkin Institute’s student luncheons offer intimate, hour-long opportunities for Drake University students. During this event, Alex Watters will informally discuss his career, share information, answer questions, provide advice and get to know the students.

Space is limited. RSVP to megan.johnson@drake.edu
